If you've searched your own trade and can't find yourself on the map, you're not alone — and it's almost always one of a handful of reasons. I was in construction for 22 years here in Fort Worth before I learned how this works. Here's the plain version of what's usually going on.
Google only puts a business on the map once it's confident the business is real, it knows exactly what you do, and other people are vouching for you. When you don't show up, it's because one or more of those signals is missing or weak — not because Google has it out for you.
Any one of these can be the culprit — and they often stack on top of each other. Sorting out which ones are hitting you, fixing them in the right order, and doing it without tripping another Google filter is the actual work. It also doesn't move overnight: local results take 3 to 6 months to settle in. The best time to start was yesterday; the next best is today.
Yes — that's exactly what the free rank check shows: where you stand and the most likely reasons you're behind.
Even after the right fixes, the map usually takes 3 to 6 months to respond. It compounds rather than flipping on overnight.
Almost always. Every one of these can be corrected — the trick is knowing which to tackle first and keeping it that way.
I'll pull up your trade in your area and show you who's ranking ahead of you, where you stand, and the most likely reasons why — free, no call required.
Send me my report →I'll pull up your trade in your area and show you who's getting the top spots, how you stack up against them, and the plain reasons they're ahead. Most contractors have never actually seen this.
I'll put your report together and email it over, usually within a day. — Adam
